Monday Musings

The clothing is now tidily tucked away in 3 dressers in the back room, conveniently near the washer and dryer. Except for, of course, the mounds of DIRTY LAUNDRY that were playing hide and seek with us in corners, under beds, and just smack in plain sight upstairs. That is mostly awaiting laundering, although a couple loads made it onto the line to take advantage of the sunny day. Upstairs remains only the PJ's, undies, socks, and some church clothing. Hopefully.

Got the COBRA info in the mail today. OUCH. Gotta decide what to do about health insurance.

Wrote 1272 words this afternoon before getting stuck on my major conflict. How to finagle it just so??? Can't figure it out yet. Gotta do it yet today. ::::bangs head:::: Nope, nothing yet. ::::bangs head again::::

Have a roast in the slow cooker and some potatoes boiling on the stove. In just a few minutes we will eat a satisfying dinner and then move on to bath night. No other plans tonight!

Watched three movies this weekend - Speed Racer (FINALLY! - reviewed at Mirkwood), What Happens in Vegas (kinda funny and romantic, but I am not real fond of either Cameron Diaz or Ashton Kutcher), & Then She Found Me (Colin Firth and Helen Hunt in a "what else can go wrong" sort of R-rated romance - liked it! Cried!). I would love to review both of those, as well as Penelope, which I watched some time ago and would recommend. Also read a book by Tess Gerritsen - The Keepsake (a suspense thriller). I've been starving for some media input! lol I'd love some movie recommendations from NEW DVD releases.

I am feeling better, maybe 90%. Bob is not quite himself either, but he has been working on scraping paint today. He also went out to the farm and picked some veggies and taters from the garden. David and James STILL have coughs, which is quite annoying. I keep thinking I should take them to the doctor, but then I think - well, they'll just tell me to give them an antibiotic and I don't really want to. I should increase all of our immune system remedies - Vitamin C, orange juice (in my opinion, the BEST home remedy), echinacea, garlic, etc...

I posted my Daybook over at Cornerstone.

Tuesday Tidbits

Have been attempting some lesson planning. Updating Cornerstone blog with info on that.

Met a friend at the waterpark today and sent one kid home with her for the night. (One down!)

Taking the girls to their first Keepers at Home meeting tonight. Picking up a friend and her daughter on the way and taking them too. Emily is going home with a friend afterwards. (Two down!)

Need to think of something for dinner.

Need to get the camper cleaned up and popped back down, ready for our next trip! When will that be? Not sure yet.

Bob's CPAP machine arrived today. He has sleep apnea, recently diagnosed, and we are hoping this will make a big difference for him. During one of his recent sleep tests, he slept 3 hours out of 7-1/2 and he quit breathing 12 times. I'm hopeful that more sleep (and better quality) will make a big difference to his pain and cognitive abilities.

Off to do some lesson planning.....

What's Up

We're off to look at some campers tonight! Hoping to have one purchased by August 15th. Bob also has to get a hitch on our minivan so we can pull the camper.

We spent the day at the lake with homeschool friends. It was a lovely day with blue skies and not very hot, at just around 80 degrees. The kids had a blast!

I am ALMOST done with Breaking Dawn - just about 100 pages left. Will finish it tonight.

Co-op registration is tomorrow. Will post more about that on my Cornerstone blog. (link in sidebar)

I have posted some stuff at Mirkwood lately too and more will be coming. (link in sidebar)

Just now it rained a little bit. The sun was shining and it was raining on one side of our house and not on the other. Very strange! lol
