First Day of Lessons

Here are the kids on our First Day of Lessons. This is after they've completed the Treasure Hunt and have found their supplies and divvied them up.

In case you are wondering why James is in PJ's - he was running a fever today. I know - bummer for the First Day - but we went ahead with our plans anyway and he did ok.

Manic Monday

The family picnic was awesome!

Whoa, I just had some major deja vu! Yikes. OK, I am apparently doing stream-of-consciousness posting here tonight.

We spent all day Sunday with my family. Will have photos and a report later. Since mostly my family reads this, they were all there and don't need a report! LOL

Monday we hung around my parents' house until nearly noon and then headed home. Got home to unpack the car and head out again for the kids' dental appointments.

No cavities! YAY! One orthodontic referral. One oral surgeon referral. Boo!

Headed over to get David's new glasses - 2 pair! He loves them!

Headed home. By now, we've logged almost 4 hours in the car today, but it's not over.

Had PBJ and pea pods for dinner and then headed out to our homeschool group's fundraiser at DQ - yep Dairy Queen! It was so nice to see so many people there! Then we had a kickball game together at a local park. A nice evening!

Total hours in car: nearly 5!

This is a busy week. The local fair, a night of VBS, beach day, co-op registration, the Jane Austen Book Club. I want to get some work done too. Plus there is BREAKING DAWN to read! lol

We had a friend take a family snapshot of us at church today - we were all presentable and we need a photo for the homeschool group yearbook. So here are the three shots. However, I can't pick the one I like best. I've added a poll to my page. (Look to the right!)

Oh, by the way, I took David to get his hair cut Saturday afternoon. I didn't want to attempt it myself, although I usually do all the kids' haircuts. I figured once the stylist cut it, I could maintain it for a while though. He chose the style from a book at the salon and it met Bob's criteria which were 1 - cut around the ears, and 2 - short in back. David lobbied hard for dying it black, which I vetoed. I was surprised he chose this style so easily and he has been happy with it so far. No hat jammed on the head! lol He is using hair spiking glue to get it to stand up. I think he used a bit much today, but he'll get the hang of it.
